Advocacy & Education
Whether you're a curious novice or a budding enthusiast, the MSAA is dedicated to guiding you through the realms of advocacy and education in the sport of archery.
MSAA's Two-Pronged Approach
The MSAA works to further the sport of archery through legislative advocacy and archery education and has a long history of involvement in both.
From our involvement at the legislature, our sponsorship of youth hunts, our coordinating and volunteering with the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP), to our involvement with youth groups like the Girl and Boy Scouts of America, the MSAA is hard at work for the protection and promotion of archery in the state.
At the Legislature
The MSAA stands ready to do the leg work at the state legislature when issues that will have an effect on our hunting and shooting sport rights arise.
The MSAA urges you to speak out and to educate on these important issues by contacting your representatives and reminding them what is important to you.
The MSAA also wants to remind you that not only must we defend our rights but we should be inclined to support the needs of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and their mandate as Minnesota's conservator guardian of our natural resources.
The MSAA Conservation Partnership
The MSAA has donated nearly $100,000 to conservation projects for the improvement of Minnesota's wildlife and habitat.
The MSAA also has a long tradition of working with the DNR for the welfare of Minnesota's natural resources and the promotion of the sport of archery in the state.
The MSAA has funded:
Camp Ripley Wounding Study
Metro Bowhunters Resource Base
Black bear studies
New equipment for the DNR
Bowhunter education programs
3D deer instructions models
and much more
What Can You Do?
Support the MSAA by way of MSAA membership. If you are already an MSAA member consider a leadership position or volunteering on any number of projects that the MSAA is involved in now.
If you are not already an MSAA member, begin by joining. Archers that organize are archers that will be heard; archers that sit idly by are archers that will see their opportunities erode because no one is speaking for them.
