These are the preliminary rules for the 50 meter tournament.
The MSAA holds a single day 50 meter round. The target is the 80cm face for 50 meter distance and the 122cm for those nearer. The round consists of 72 arrows.
Shooting Distances:
Adult men shoot from 50 meters at 80cm 6 ring target face.
Adult women shoot from 50 meters at 80cm 6 ring target face.
Seniors shoot from 50 meters at 80cm 6 ring target face.
Young Adults (15-17) shoot from 50 meters at 80cm 10 ring target face.
Youth (12-14) shoot from 50 meters at 80cm 10 ring target face.
Cubs (8-11) shoot from 30 meters at 122cm 10 ring target face.
Junior Cub (7 and under) shoot all their arrows from 30 meters at 122cm 10 ring target face.
MSAA 50 meter distances are different from standard 50 meter distances for recurve archers in that all adult classes will shoot from 50 meters. Recurve archers will use the 10 ring target face.
The MSAA 50 meter currently counts towards the Grand Champion awards as of January 2020.
